Soft Launch Recap: Marvelous Mammals at the Bozeman Public Library
On November 29, 2025, Discovery Rhymes quietly—but meaningfully—introduced Marvelous Mammals to the world with a soft launch at the Bozeman Public Library. This wasn’t a big, flashy release. It was exactly what we hoped for: personal, local, and centered on families, stories, and learning.
There’s no better place to introduce a children’s book than a library—surrounded by stories, families, and the joy of discovery.
The event served two purposes. First, it was the official preorder pickup day for our Bozeman community. Families who had preordered were able to collect their copies in person. Second, it was our shipping hub for the day—every remaining preorder was signed, packed, and sent out so books could start making their way to homes beyond Montana.
Author Mike Gold spent the afternoon greeting guests as they arrived—old friends, former colleagues, and past students, many of whom now came through the doors with children of their own. That full-circle moment mattered. These were the kinds of connections that shaped the heart of this book long before it existed in print.
For several families, Mike sat down and read Marvelous Mammals aloud, turning the event into an impromptu storytime. Kids gathered close, listened, asked questions, and lingered on the illustrations. Meanwhile, tables were set up with Marvelous Mammals activity sheets, coloring pages, mazes, and crayons—giving children space to create while adults talked, laughed, and caught up.
Books were signed throughout the afternoon. Some copies were personalized for first-time readers, others for grandparents, teachers, or classrooms. By the end of the day, stacks of signed books were boxed up and ready to ship, marking the true transition from “preorder” to “out in the world.”
This soft launch wasn’t about scale. It was about starting the right way—grounded in community, conversation, and shared curiosity. We’re grateful to the Bozeman Public Library for hosting us, to everyone who came out to support the launch, and to the families who made the day feel exactly like Marvelous Mammals was always meant to feel: warm, thoughtful, and full of wonder.
